Meet the Owner

Welcome to Volta Dance! My name is Anna Ivie, and I am the founder and instructor here at Volta Dance. My journey with ballroom dancing began in high school when I took a social dance class for fun. I instantly fell in love with the art form and continued to explore it throughout my high school years, eventually joining the ballroom dance team. This passion carried me into college, where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree with an Emphasis in Ballroom Dance from Utah Valley University (UVU).

While at UVU, I had the incredible opportunity to travel, compete, and perform with my college team, while also gaining valuable knowledge in safe and effective dance instruction. In addition to my degree, I became certified in Latin teaching through the American International Dance Association (AIDA). This well-rounded education in both technique and teaching methods has equipped me with the tools to offer top-tier dance instruction.

After graduation, I pursued a career teaching dance in public schools, but my true passion lies in working with dedicated students who strive for excellence in a nurturing and supportive environment. This is what inspired me to open Volta Dance— a place where students can develop their technical skills and refine their performance abilities, without the pressures of grades or competition.

At Volta Dance, we are a performance-based studio, focused on helping students learn various ballroom dance styles while building confidence, creativity, and community. Whether you're new to dance or looking to advance your skills, I'm excited to guide you on your dance journey and help you grow into the dancer you've always dreamed of becoming.

I look forward to dancing with you!
